How We Work at ARC
Workshops + Research
At ARC, our work is shaped by rigorous research and collaborative workshops. We build deep understanding through data, expert insight and cultural context, then bring diverse voices together to explore ideas, shape narratives and define priorities. This integrated approach ensures outcomes that are credible, imaginative and meaningfully connected to their audiences.
Workshops
A core part of our process is the bringing together of subject experts, curators, designers, project teams and our facilitators to spark ideas and build a shared understanding. We do this through workshops. Workshops are designed to reflect the needs of each stage of the project.
ARC facilitators use curated activities, developed across 30 years of experience, to help participants share knowledge and ambitions, generate and communicate complex ideas and narratives.
Findings are then distilled into clear insights that guide narrative development and shape the tone and delivery, creatively harnessing collective knowledge and placing it at the heart of the project.
Research
The development of ideas is underpinned by robust and wide-ranging research that maps contexts and identifies gaps, strengthened by conversations with experts, industry leaders, and academics.
We start with desk-based research, using academic writing, sector reports, archives, and contemporary studies, that establishes the outline of the project. This approach is combined with interviews, surveys and workshops with knowledge holders to create a clear and useable conceptual framework.
