World Energy Congress 2024 – Defining the Vision
The World Energy Congress (WEC) 2024 in Rotterdam is one of the largest global events focused on energy, drawing experts, governments, and corporations from around the world.
The Saudi Ministry of Energy’s presence at WEC was a key opportunity to demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s commitment to leading in both energy supply and the transition to alternative energy sources.
ARC was tasked with creating the communication strategy and exhibit layout, ensuring that the Ministry’s message was clear, compelling, and aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Research, Content Development & Storytelling
ARC worked extensively to curate and select from over 150 potential stories and projects from various entities, including SABIC, KACARE, and a range of Ministries.
The content development process involved identifying the most relevant and impactful initiatives, ensuring they aligned with WEC’s audience of energy professionals and decision-makers.
The narrative structure emphasised Saudi Arabia’s dual role as both an energy producer and a leader in sustainable energy innovations. ARC’s approach ensured that the content clearly showed the nation’s ambition to provide energy solutions that benefit both people and the planet while delivering on global climate and emissions goals.

Visitor Journey
The exhibit was designed with a central hub with four expanded thematic zones. The hub offered an inspiring overview of Saudi Arabia’s global energy leadership and its role in managing an equitable energy transition.
From here, visitors could choose to explore one of the four themed zones
- Planning Energy, looking at strategy, policy and energy infrastructure development
- Producing Energy, showcasing innovation in both conventional and renewable energy
- Using Energy, exploring initiatives across the nation to reduce energy use and emissions
- Decarbonising Energy, highlighting key actions in industry, housing, transport

Bringing the Story to Life
To bring the story to life, ARC worked with cutting-edge technology and design from delivery partners Miraj. Transparent OLED screens, interactive tokens, and dynamic sliding screens were used to showcase the most innovative energy projects, both current and in development.
Each zone was designed to provide a deeper dive into specific areas of energy strategy and showcase relevant projects. Visitors could interact with displays, learn about ongoing research, and engage with subject matter experts (SMEs) for a more detailed understanding of each theme.

A Leadership Message
ARC’s strategic design and content development ensured that the WEC exhibit was not just a showcase of current achievements but a forward-looking statement about Saudi Arabia’s role in the global energy transition.
The use of innovative technology, interactive elements, and expert-led discussions provided a compelling visitor experience, allowing the Ministry to communicate its vision clearly and effectively.
This exhibit demonstrated the power of combining compelling storytelling with state-of-the-art technology to engage a diverse, global audience in meaningful dialogue about the future of energy.
